ABOUT MYERS-BRIGGS® TYPE INDICATOR

The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator® (MBTI®) assessment is a tool that helps people increase their self-awareness, understand and appreciate differences in others, and apply personality insights to improve their personal and professional effectiveness. The assessment identifies people as one of 16 MBTI personality types. Each type reflects how a person naturally prefers to direct and receive energy, take in information, make decisions, and approach the outside world. Knowing this provides a powerful framework for understanding and relating to people.

THE SCIENCE BEHIND MYERS-BRIGGS TYPE INDICATOR

  • During the test, an individual answers approximately 94 questions that evaluate preference toward four different dichotomies: Introversion-extroversion, sensing-intuition, thinking-feeling and judging-perceiving.
  • More recent research from 2009 (presented in the MBTI Form M Manual Supplement) by the Foundation shows an average test-retest reliability of 72%
  • Previous research by Carskadon (1977) also found test-retest reliability of 72–87%.

OUR PROCESS

  • The Myers-Briggs self-assessment takes about 20 to 30 minutes to complete.
  • It is administered by an accredited Syngrity facilitator who then takes you through a debrief on how to interpret your report and guides you on individual developmental plans. The assessment can be used for longer Executive Coaching journeys.

(Please note that each license to take the assessment is chargeable at an additional fee)
